About Gene Cartwright

Founder | Editor | Audio Engineer | Production Sound Mixer
With over eight years of experience in post-production and on-set sound, I created Frames and Faders to bring a refined, detail-driven approach to storytelling through sight and sound. As an editor, audio engineer, and production sound mixer, I’ve worn many hats—often all at once—ensuring that every project I touch hits the mark both technically and emotionally.
My skillset spans dialogue editing, sound design, mixing for broadcast and streaming, and multi-camera video editing across a wide range of formats. I’ve handled everything from narrative films and branded content to live event capture and social media campaigns.
Based in Metro Detroit, I’ve worked on everything from indie films to branded content, always prioritizing clean, dynamic sound and seamless visual flow. My skillset spans dialogue editing, sound design, mixing for broadcast and streaming, and multi-camera video editing across a wide range of formats. I’ve handled everything from narrative films and branded content to live event capture and social media campaigns. Frames and Faders is built for creators who care about craft—whether you’re a director needing crisp dialogue and immersive sound design, or a producer looking for a final mix that’s festival-ready.
As I’m crafting a scene in the edit bay or mixing in the field, my goal is simple: make it feel real, sound clean, and look great. Frames and Faders is built for creators who value quality, communication, and collaboration.
I believe in collaboration, clear communication, and making sure the final product doesn’t just sound good—it feels right.
